John Carpenter and Nicolas Cage are in talks to team up in a new prison thriller called Scared Straight according to the trades. The movie is about a troubled youth who goes to prison as part of the ‘Scared Straight’ program and while hes there he is taking hostage in a riot and mayhem ensues.

More thriller then horror but the bigger question is are they not pushing it a little to have Nicolas Cage play a teenager? I mean come on playing a guy with hair is a stretch as it is. I am kidding of course. Cage plays a bad ass convict in prison for life who is forced to help the teenager. Rob Cohen will direct.
