After a massive earthquake in Tokyo, two American filmmakers document the true cause of the destruction.

Seventeen year-old Nathan is in love with Jessica but he just can’t pluck up the courage to ask her out. To make matters worse, Samson the school bully is convinced that Nathan is making moves on his flirtatious girlfriend, Cheryl.

Then Jessica and Nathan’s best friends take matters into their own hands and set them up on a date. However, thanks to the interference of Jessica’s disapproving father, the plan falls apart. Mistakenly led to believe that Jessica is going all the way with local lothario Kenneth, Nathan ends up drunk and alone in his bedroom. One careless, but fatal, accident later.

But Nathan’s mother Grace is not about to let her son go. Seizing upon an old voodoo book she has discovered in the local church, Grace performs a restorative ritual on Nathan and brings him back to life. When he wakes up, Nathan is none the wiser. Except that now he can’t feel any pain, he has no pulse and he has a strong desire to eat human flesh.

Terrorized by bullies, lonely 12-year-old Oskar befriends a new neighbor, a mysterious young girl whose arrival coincides with a series of gruesome deaths and attacks. Though Oskar realizes that she’s a vampire, his friendship with her is stronger than his fear.

Time went by. The Cossack chief – the young lady’s father – lost his mind: to prevent the evil spirits from entering his estate, he ordered a deep moat dug and a tall wall constructed around the hamlet and the adjacent lands.

Now one could only enter the hamlet via a retractable bridge, which was guarded day and night by men, loyal to the Cossack chief. Few were allowed inside. All kinds of riffraff hung around the bridge by the dozen: God’s fools, the homeless and the cripples. Those allowed to cross the bridge were thoroughly searched. The rumors had it the Cossack chief was afraid of Viy’s return.

One day a scientist arrived at the hamlet. From then on mysterious murders started occurring at the estate. Inhabitants, known until then as decent people, suddenly became aggressive and cruel.

The scientist begins an investigation. Soon he learns that Viy indeed exists. Seminarian Brut’s death and all the developments in the recent days are not coincidental. Gradually he comes to unraveling the Viy mystery. It’s not Viy himself who is dangerous, but his gaze. Viy is rather harmless.

However, when any mortal looks into Viy’s eyes, the demons of all the sins, fears, passions and horrors, laying dormant in the dark soul of the beholder, attack from within. But a person, whose nature is pure, can look into Viy’s eyes without fear. The truth is inside you.”

The story centers on a sheriff, recently transplanted from the inner city, who assembles a search party to investigate the disappearance of hikers in the Cascade Mountains and discovers the menacing side of the remote wilderness.

Today THR reports that Woody Harrelson will be joining the cast of Zombieland. Directed by Ruben Fleischer and written by the team of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (“The Joe Schmo Show”), “Zombieland” revolves around a mismatched pair of survivors who find friendship and redemption in a world overrun by zombies. Harrelson plays one of the men, a zombie fighter named Albuquerque.

During an Anthology Film Archives screening of the first two films in the Maniac Cop franchise director William Lustig spoke to the crowd. Luckily Fangoria was on hand and apparently he told everyone there about what was coming up next with the franchise.

“Larry (Cohen) and I have gotten the sequel rights back for MANIAC COP, and we’re preparing to do a MANIAC COP 4,” Lustig tells Fango. “I don’t have any more details other than that; this all happened within the last month, so it’s so fresh… When I get back to Los Angeles, Larry and I are going to sit down and work on something.”

This sounds.. interesting. I’m not sure which is better at this point a part four or maybe a reboot? What do they have planned for a part four? I guess only time will tell. Be sure to keep it here for more as we learn it.
