Silent But Deadly Gets its Star
Michael Patrick Entertainment is pleased to announce that indie film star Jason Mewes (Jay and Silent Bob, Clerks, Dogma) will play the lead role in genre picture “Silent But Deadly.” This satirical take on the slasher flick will mark the feature film directorial debut of eight time Much Music Video Award (MMVA) winner Stephen Scott.
“We are really excited about the caliber of talent we have lined up for this film. Stephen Scott has a distinct visual sensibility and energy that he brings to the set, and Jason Mewes possesses just the right blend of sensitive and sinister for the pivotal role of haunted loner Thomas Capper,” says producer Michael Patrick.
Filming over 21 days on location in Chatham, Ontario this August, “Silent but Deadly” takes a fresh look at a classic genre staple of the 70’s and 80’s. This slasher flick doesn’t revolve around immoral teens but instead our mysterious serial killer takes aim at the cesspool of sin that is a Hollywood film set, as he unleashes his own brand of retribution on the cast and crew.
“Silent but Deadly” is the first of three feature films that Michael Patrick Entertainment is set to produce over the next year.
“We are pretty excited about the strong and well rounded slate we have been able to put together. “Silent But Deadly” is our genre feature, and we have a serious thriller and straight out comedy in development for Fall 2008 and early 2009 as well,” says Michael Patrick.
