Stockwell Directs Sanctuary
Variety reports that John Stockwell has signed up to direct supernatural thriller Sanctuary for Lionsgate and Sobini Films. The film is based on the novel Bad Men written by John Connolly and is adapted by Stephen Susco. The story revolves around a mysterious woman who takes refuge on a haunted island off the Maine coast.
Stockwell’s track record seems to be mainly filled with women in swimsuits and films that didn’t get a very warm welcome by fans. Into the Blue, Turistas and Blue Crush. We’ll have to see what he can do with a little supernatural action in Maine. It will definitely be something new for the guy unless he somehow makes it a bunch of college kids going out to an island to party… More on this as we hear it.
