Cloverfield 2 Dead in the Water?
Recently there has been a lot of buzz about a possible sequel to Cloverfield. Several ideas have been tossed around including one in which the story would be told from a different perspective on the same night. Well now it appears that the project might just disappear completely.
Collider was in attendance at the 34th Annual Saturn Awards in which they got to ask director Matt Reeves about his upcoming projects. When asked about Cloverfield 2 he said it is not dead in the water but just “on hold”. It sounds like code for forget about it. The main reason for not doing another film is simply because they do not want to tell the same story again. They want something new and fresh. Plus the ending to the first film was so well done.. he just doesn’t want to beat the horse anymore.
Reeves also mentioned his upcoming film The Invisible Woman which is what he called a “Hitchcockian thriller”. I don’t think that film will have much talk here but you can check out everything he had to say about it by watching the video over at Collider.
