Inside Movie Review

Inside brings the terror back to horror.  I will start by telling you what i like to see in a horror film.  It don’t matter to me if a film is just rehashing old ideas, as long as they give it a new twists, give me some cool original kill’s, somthing.  Thats just what we see here with Inside.  This moive is pretty simple and it gets right to the point.  No fooling around here.  It is a simple story that delivers plenty of thrills.

Inside is about Sarah (Alysson Paradis)  a young photographer who recently lost her boyfriend in a car crash and she is still grieving over her loss. It is now Christmas and she is alone and expecting a baby the next day. On Christmas Eve she is visited by a Woman in Black (Béatrice Dalle) who wants to get inside the house for reasons unknown. However, soon enough, she is in the house and her goal becomes clear.  I will save the rest as to not spoil anything for you.

So what about this movie kept me on the edge of my seat?  Thats easy, this is one of the most brutal, and gory films i have ever seen.  But thats not all Inside has to offer, the suspence kept me glued to my chair, and the horror on the screen of my TV kept my jaw firmly on the ground.  Best of all Inside was scary.   I did not move to go to the bathroom, grab for my drink, i dident even light up a cigarette for the entire length of the movie.

The acting was well done by all the main characters,  Alysson Paradis played Sarah (the victim) wonderfully.  But Béatrice Dalle  steals the show as the mysterious psychopath.  She did a wonderful job creepying me out.  Her mythotical stalking and brutal methods not only kept me on the edge of my seat, but squirming in it as well in one of the best female villians since Mrs. Carmody in the Mist.

Well most of the hype around “Inside” was the gore.  And i will tell you it won’t let you down.  When the blood starts pooring, it don’t stop!  As i have said the gore is brutal and for the most part done very well.

The setting is one of the best parts about this film.  Most of the film takes place in Sarah’s house.  Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury do a spectacular job (along with great acting) making you feel the hopelessness of Sarah’s desperate situation and the unforgivingness of the killer.  Everytime she lights up a cigarette the awsome editing and filmmaking are in your face.

There really wassen’t much i dident like about this film, and the great creepy score was no exception.  It did exactly what a good score should and added to every brual and intence scene.

The finale is soaked in blood and is one of the most depressing and disturbing endings i have seen in awhile.  Inside is a must see and must own.  One of the best horror films of the past decade in my humble opinion!
