Friday the 13th, Jasons Got a Sack Mask!

Our friends at IESB were invited to visit the set of Friday the 13th the new remake by platinum dunes. I am sure our invite was lost in the mail but IESB reports in on Jason and the fact that he wont be toting a hockey mask through the entire movie, rather he will wear a SACK on his head. Oh my! They say:

The IESB visited the set of Friday the 13th last week to see maniac killer Jason Voorhees in action after a long absence. According to the filmmakers, in this new film, we’ll see both Sack Jason and Hockey Mask Jason.

Another reporter present commented that it would be Voorhees’ “Darth Vader Moment” of donning the mask - which sounds like a pretty good description. While is may be true that it was shot from behind as Fuller said, when we spoke with make up man Scott Stoddard later that night (actually early the next morning) he said the shot of Voorhees switching from sack to mask was actually shot two ways - one from the front with Mears in full Jason make-up and one from behind so to hide the face.

Goon pointed out earlier that Friday the 13th is going to embrace an R rating for the remake. Now that would be the logical choice for a film like this. But check out what else he had to say:

“What is F13 without sex, drugs and really, really long sharp machete? And why would we, horror fans ourselves, produce a movie devoid of the things that made the title so appealing in the first place. So let me say for the record, that the F13 that we start shooting this Thursday is a full bodied, rated R film. It has insane kills that will be shown in all their glory- it has a group of college students who drink and even have sex. We are betting that if we don’t hold back that the audience will reward us for being bold in a time when some horror movies are playng the ratings game. So we embrace the R rating Friday the 13th will have, and hope you will too.”

At least its got an R Rating! Thats all I am gonna say.
