Let the Right One In Duo’s Next
Swedish helmer Tomas Alfredson and author John Ajvide Lindqvist first teamed up for Let the Right One In. The film was an offbeat vampire tale that won them an award at Tribeca. They are joining forces once again to bring Lindqvist’s ghost story, “Manniskohamn” (In Human Shape), to the big screen. The novel was just published two weeks ago.
“The new novel is very special and very difficult. We have made a gentleman’s agreement to make the film together, but we are in no hurry. It took time to make ‘Let the Right One In,’ and I think that was only good,” Alfredson told Variety. “We have no production company behind us yet, and we know this will be an expensive film with lots of special effects.”
Magnolia Pictures are all set to release Let the Right One In later this year. Hammer Films and Spitfire Pictures have acquired the U.S. remake rights for the film.
