Postal Pulled From Release
Poor Uwe Boll. Postal is without a doubt his best film and from the reviews I have read its funny, witty, insulting and makes South Park look tame. However, it seems that the taboos (from September 11 to Religious Fruitcakes) Boll skewers and laughs at are too much for theater chains in the United States. Bollbashers got word from Boll’s company saying that the 1500 theater release originally planned for the film on May 23rd is now to down a mere handful.
When I mean handful, I mean it makes the Weinstein’s limited release of Diary of the Dead seem big. Postal will show in only FOUR CITIES! New York, Denver, Los Angles, and Tuscon.
I’m personally really pissed at this. I’ve been wanting to see Postal for some time now and its really hypocritical in my opinion for theaters to not run Postal because of its ‘political content.’ Considering the fact many theaters ran Michael Moore’s Franheit 9/11 which generated more controversy in a day than Postal will ever do.
But, maybe you can help. Postal Nation has gotten ahold of the emails of the CEOs of the Big Three Cinema Chains who had signed on to release the film: AMC, Cinemark and Regal Entertainment. So go over there and get them to bring the film back.
I’m hoping that Postal comes out in theaters, hopefully near me. If not, gotta wait for the DVD.
