Cronenberg to Direct Timecrimes Remake
I recently got the chance to watch Director Nacho Vigalondo’s Timecrimes (my review) which I can say is one of the best films I have seen all year. Of course when a good foreign movie comes along its not long before Hollywood wants a big budget remake done. Today Blogdecine had interview with the director about how he wanted to see the film handled.
Vigalondo revealed that he would love to see David Cronenberg direct the film. I guess the producers have spoken to him about the film so he is in the running. When asked who would take the lead he mentioned a couple names including Bruce Willis and Kurt Russell. To play the man helping the lead in the film he mentioned Adam Brody. Of course these are just hopefuls for the director at this point.
Timothy Sexton will adapt the script from the original story in which a man accidentally travels back into the past and meets himself. A naked girl in the middle of the forest. A mysterious stranger with his face wrapped in a pink bandage. A disquieting mansion on the top of a hill. All of them pieces of an unpredictable jigsaw puzzle where terror, drama and suspense will lead to an unthinkable crime.
