The Company of Wolves Review
I heard a lot of positive stuff on this werewolf film and I decided to check it for myself and I guess I had my hopes up or something, because I was pretty let down. It was well directed and had interesting stories, but I just wasn’t into it.
It’s pretty much about a girl who is always being told stories by her grandma - played by Angela Lansbury - that all involve werewolves in one form or another. She tells her not to trust men who have one eyebrow, because it’s a bad sign or in other words, a sign that they are a wolf *shrugs*.
The stories are weird and sometimes confusing. The movie didn’t really have one big plot, but many sub-plots. It was interesting in parts, but I found myself bored a lot. I liked the directing and acting though. The effects for the wolves weren’t too bad and I enjoyed the whole red ridinghood thing they did towards the end.
I wish I could have given it a higher rating, because it is a decent film, but I personally couldn’t get into it. I ended up settling with a 5-rating. At times it seemed like I was watching a kids film, but it’s mainly due in part that this is also a fantasy movie. I can see how many people would like this movie, but I just wasn’t one of them. Oh well.
