Another Victim for Friday the 13th
According to Variety Arlen Escarpeta has landed a lead role in the remake to the classic Friday the 13th. Now even though he has a lead role I would say that it is safe to assume that he will just be more fodder for Jason. As far as acting goes this guy has mostly TV credits and has only just recently signed on for a couple other films.
Even though this is a remake to the first Friday the 13th it is mainly going to focus on Jason at Camp Crystal Lake. However we do know that Ms. Voorhees will be back and played by Nana Visitor. Plus with her head having been casted we should have a good idea of her demise.
Escarpeta will be joining Derek Mears, Nana Visitor, Jared Padalecki, Willa Ford, Nick Mennell, Danielle Panabaker, Aaron Yoo and Amanda Righetti. Marcus Nispel will be directing this one for Platinum Dunes. The release date on this one is still solid and I don’t think this one will budge from its Friday the 13th release in February, 2009.
