The Witch Who Came From the Sea Review

I’ve got one word for this flick — horrible. I never heard of this movie until I was sent a copy for review and I wish I could send it back, because I spent most of my time hitting the fast-forward button. Aside from this flick being incredibly slow and boring, it offers nothing else but a lot of weird sexual situations. All thanks to the woman’s perverted father. Apparently the woman is now plagued with memories of her father and how he would sexually abuse her as a child. Of course she tries to cover up those memories by telling her nephews stories of how much of a great man he was, but thanks to her older sister shoving reality back into her head, she’s often conflicted. This movie is supposed to be a cult film amongst certain horror fans, but I personally find it nothing more than a handy coaster for my iced tea.

If you get passed all the weird sex and nudity you’ll notice that this is a horror film. It’s only proven in certain scenes that deal with the characters being murdered — one such scene involves a man getting his penis cut off; interesting stuff. Sadly the movie is mostly consisted of sex, flashbacks, and fantasies; all within the lead chick’s head. Where’s the witch who came from the sea? Where’s the cool looking scythe she has in her hand on the cover? Nowhere!! Apparently they marketed the film with that poster in order to lure viewers. I feel for the suckers who actually paid to see this movie at the theaters. I only gave this movie a 3-rating because it does have a couple interesting scenes and offers some nudity from the hot lead.

A waste of a movie. Doesn’t offer anything more than nudity and weirdness. Avoid.
