LA Prepares for Battle

The Hollywood Reporter announced that Columbia has preemptively picked up rights to Chris Bertolini’s Battle: Los Angeles. The story follows one Marine platoon’s encounter in the battle against an alien invasion on the streets of Los Angeles.

“I love the idea, and I love the script. I like it all,” Producer Neal Moritz said. “We are going to be in production within six months. What’s attractive to me is that it’s a huge event movie that can be done at a modest scale.”

This time around there will be no handheld camera work like what Cloverfield employed earlier this year. No word on who will direct or any kind of timeline. But you can bet we will be keeping a close eye on this one for you guys.
