Mr. Video
Mr. Video is a fifteen minute horror/comedy short that I was glad to be able to check out that comes from us courtesy of our friends from across the pond in the U.K. Usually in these films the comedy is sometimes lost in translation and I can tell you I am definitely one of those people who doesn’t get a lot of it. But this short still manages to keep its comedy intact and entertain with some great horror elements as well.

New Alien Destruction in Uprising
There is a new flick in the works called UPRISING. Its a common theme done many times, its about an Alien race that conquers earth and how mankind must unite to throw off the yolk of those darn evil aliens. You ever notice how Aliens are never loveably and cuddly? They always have ray guns or three heads with two that want to eat you and the third one that is in-different.
Wolfgang Peterson will direct and the script is being written by Charles Leavitt who wrote Blood Diamon according to Variety. I am all for SciFi horror so i will give this one a shot.

Top 10 Horror Remakes That Dont Suck!
Top Ten ACCEPTABLE Remakes:
10. Halloween (2007) I know I’m gonna catch a lot of heat right out of the gate for this one, but I don’t care. Carpenter’s Halloween is one of my all-time favorite films and I have a sentimental attachment to it as well. I love this movie as much as you can love a movie but I can still appreciate Zombie’s effort. Let me tell you why. Rob Zombie is a fan. He didn’t remake this film for revenue and he didn’t change it up (like the TCM remake). He kept the same characters, the same plot, the music, the mask, etc. This was a loving homage done in his style. I can dig that. If anyone else had done it and attempted to copy the perfection that is the original, I would have blasted it to Hell. Trust me, you know I don’t stand for that. But Zombie’s film is a tribute done the way only Zombie could do it. Of course I have some issues with it (a little too heavy on the white trash angle if you ask me) but I can appreciate where he was going. Plus it has a kickass soundtrack.

Our compadres at MoviesOnline did an exclusive one on one with Frank Darabonte where he talked about his upcoming films Fahrenheit and The Long Walk as well as his amazing work on The Mist. Go give the interview a read. And also check back later this weekend because a birdie tells me we have us a BAD ASS Collectors item for the film up for grabs on our site… or will!

Dead By Dawn Coming Soon
Backwoods Entertainment are currently working on a couple of horror films. But the one that has really caught our eye is called Dead By Dawn. The title alone could inspire plenty of different horror stories but this one in particular is going to take place during the most wicked night of them all.. Halloween.
