Hell Night

Here is another underrated slasher film from the early 80’s that I enjoy watching from time to time called Hell Night which came out in 1981. It is directed by Tom DeSimone who has become more a tv director nowadays since this film.

The film is about 4 pledges of a fraternity who must spend Hell Might at the old creepy and supposedly town haunted house known as Garth Manor. The pledges are escorted up to the mansion by the frat after a big party and must spend the rest of the night alone in the ole mansion where the entire Garth family was murdered by their rich father Raymond Garth who ended up killing himself before police arrived 10 years earlier.

The pledges are 2 girls and 2 guys and once they start to fell cozy in the mansion starnge noises and ghostly apparitions start to appear but that is due to the frat President and 2 other frat members who have rigged  teh house with electronics to scare them off and they are themselves in the manor trying to scare the pledges off.

But little do they all know but that someone or something or maybe 2 of somethings live inside the ole manor and are pissed off they there home has been invaded. Well you can now guess that one by one they all start getting killed off. Could the killer be Andrew Garth who was supposedly beaten in the head as a child with a fireplace poker and he survived his families massacre cause 2 of the family members bodies were missing from the house when police arrived years earlier…..or could it be the demented father Raymond Garth or maybe another sibling…

The film has some decent actors in it with the likes of Linda Blair, Vincent Van Patten, Peter Barton, Kevin Brophy, etc……..I also liked the setting of the mansion on the hill and the garden maze in it too. I give this film a 7.5 out of 10 rating. I would have given it a higher rating if Linda Blair would have gotten naked in it though lol.
