Scarecrows Review

Alright, how many of us were watching horror movies back in 1988? Better yet, how many was speaking in 1988? Well, I was ten back then, and as my profile says, I wasn’t allowed to watch, but I could hear the movies. This was one, when I got older, that I hunted down to watch since I can hear it, and it intrigued me. Hope it does the same for you…

Plot…best way to say it is: men steal money, they kidnap a man and his daughter, force them to fly their plane, and then one of them gets greedy. With that said, they go after the greedy bastard, towing the hostages with them, and wind up at an abandoned home, guarded by scarecrows. Well, shit hits the fan when the scarecrows start coming to life, killing those who trespassed on their land…Alright, the main reason I bring you this review is because lately every studio is bringing out a scarecrow movie, none of them are any good. You want good, go to the original. THIS is the original. Granted, there are multiple scarecrows, but that is pretty freaky man. You aren’t being chased by a demonic scarecrow or shit, you are being stalked by several of them, all thirsty to spill your blood…

Acting…well, it is an 80’s movie, so honestly, it could have been better. But if you take into account most of them were probably on cocaine while filming this, then yes, the acting was good J…

Nudity…nope, which is surprising…

CGI…this is the 80’s man, CGI was saved for sci-fi movies…

Scares…you’ll jump several times as this movie. Not that you don’t know what’s coming, but the fact that they are coming for those characters, and they ain’t stopping…

Gore…plenty. Wait, let me repeat: ppplllleeeennnnttttyyy. Not CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST gory, but enough to fill a bathtub full (J)…

Bottom line…if you haven’t watched this classic, go do it. You can walk to the video store to rent if you want, or take my word for it and buy it. But, there are no reimbursements if you do it that way J
