Erica Durance in House of the Dead
Three Hills, Alberta native Erica Durance is a duel citizen of the U.S. and Canada who would first make an impression on television viewers by following in the footsteps of actress Margot Kidder with her portrayal of intrepid Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane.
Supporting roles in such popular sci-fi television series as Tru Calling, Stargate SG-1, and Andromeda served well to help the rising star solidify her genre credibility while successfully avoiding typecasting, and while early feature film appearances in Sasquatch and House of the Dead may have done little to advance her career on the big screen, a headlining appearance in the made for television thriller Stranded and the dark, drug-fueled romantic drama Ecstasy - adapted from a story by Trainspotting author Irvine Welsch - proved that Durance was ready and willing to take the kind of risks that could send her career soaring to the next level.
