The Matrimony
Taking cues from Hitchcock’s 40s classic Rebecca and set in Bejing in the 1930s, this Chinese-language supernatural drama follows the fateful love triangle of the wealthy and terse Junchu (Leon Lai), his bashful, blushing bride Sansan (Rene Liu), and his vengeful dead fiancée, Manli (Fan Bingbing).
In The Spider’s Web
In The Spider’s Web is part of the result of a 10-picture deal struck by RHI Entertainment and The Sci-Fi Channel – their horror-happy titles include Grizzly Rage, Maneater, Eye of the Beast, and one other monster movie coming to disc today: Blood Monkey, starring Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham.
Monster Island
This deliberately campy MTV production uses fake-looking science fiction creatures to drum up some laughs in a typical teenage horror flick. MONSTER ISLAND features the adventures of six 20-somethings that win a trip to a Bermuda resort.
Elizabeth Hurley in Method
Being declared one of the sexiest women in film history by Empire magazine would be a title which many actresses would find difficult to live up to, but Elizabeth Hurley was unlike most of the models-turned-movie stars that preceded her. Not only blessed with high cheek bones and a curvy physique, she was also blessed with a sharp business sense, innate intelligence, as well as an almost supernatural ability to remain poised in the face of ugly controversies. These scandals would come fast in furious, including the infamous arrest of her then-boyfriend, actor Hugh Grant, for soliciting a prostitute, followed a few years later with an ugly paternity suit against millionaire Stephen Bing over the birth of their child in 2001. Despite these high profile setbacks, Hurley remained a popular model with her years-long contract with Estee Lauder, as well as maintained a modest career as an actress and producer, most notably starring as Vanessa Kensington, the knockout agent paired with Mike Meyers in “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery” (1997).

Day Watch Trailer

Drive Thru Review
A few minutes into Drive-Thru , the 2007 horror-comedy effort by directors Brendan Cowles and Shane Kuhn, I said to myself (or possibly I said it out loud), “Aww yeah! Looks like Avril and the Pussycats versus a Killer Klown from Outer Space! Let the Unholy Rumble commence!” It could have been goofy fun. Too bad the rest of the movie didn’t live up to that potential.
